The Panchkarma is a process of five therapeutic measures by those complete body from toe to head is overhauled and enlightened. VAMANA or the emesis therapy works on the principle of eliminating the excess Kaph (cough) that leads to excess mucus production in our nasal system leading to bronchitis, asthma, cough, and emphysema.
BASTI or the enema therapy works on the principle of eliminating the excess Vada () that leads to various health issues such as constipation, distention, renal calculi, sciatica, and many other bodily problems. It is further divided into NIRUHA BASTI and ANUVASAN BASTI.
NASYA or nasal administration works on the fact that the nose is the closest opening to the brain, mind, sinuses, and throat. So, oils and herbal extracts are administered through the nose and eliminations are also procedure through the same.
VIRECHANA or purgation therapy works on the principle of elimination excess of Pitt (bile) from the liver, gall bladder and the intestines.
